Paper consumption in university campuses across the United States is a common problem. Paper is often used for administrative purposes, communication materials, coursework requirements and student assignments.
The University of Rhode Island Office of Sustainability does not currently have a policy that looks at paper reduction across the campus offices and its departments. This project analyzes printing behavior in the Coastal Institute as a pilot project that could serve as a basis for future application across all the university departments.
Think before you print focuses on visual communication materials that are targeted to the members of the Coastal Institute. The title of the campaign Think before you print/ink emphasizes the importance of minimizing printing using the email server list from the Coastal Institute. Emails include gif formats, tutorials, and infographics to promote awareness.
