Jacquard Textile

This project was a two week collaboration with Zoe Schlacter. I continued to apply parametric typography to different materials. Jacquard refers to a type of complex weaving programmed with a binary code system. Early Jacquard fabrics were programmed with punchcards, but contemporary Jacquard fabrics are completely computerized. This multi–layer Jacquard fabric was programmed in a software called Pointcarre and woven on the computerized Jacquard loom at RISD using various rayon and lurex threads.
