This project brings back the once removed sculpture of Thomas Doyle into it’s original location at Cathedral Square in Downcity Providence. Thomas Doyle was the mayor of Providence from 1864 to 1886. He modernized the city of Providence by building the City Hall, developing the water systems and railroads in the city. The sculpture was moved from its original location in order to create space for today’s incompleted planning project designed by the architect I.M. Pei. Today the plaza is a city void. There is no pedestrian activity due to economical issues at the time of construction. My proposal seeks to outline the shadow in the plaza.
